Mt. Zion uses a MD State Department of Education approved curriculum, "Opening the World of Learning." OWL by Pearson is a comprehensive, early-literacy program.
Mt. Zion conducts assessments two times a year
One-day, two-year-old class
Two-day, two-year-old class
Three-day, three-year-old class (a.m. or p.m.)
Four-day, four-year-old class (a.m. or p.m.)
Length of School Day:
2 1/2 hours for twos, threes, and fours. Activities are conducted to address the developmentally appropriate needs of the children.
Our Preschool Director, Rebecca Fitzgerald, has 19 years of experience as a Montessori teacher of children ages 2-6 and a director of a Montessori school for ages 6 weeks through third grade. She has an associate's degree in Early Childhood Development as well as more than 70 additional credits from Ashford and Radford universities.
